ADDITIONAL LOCAL RULES TO THE GOLF IRELAND HARD CARD

(Only those printed hereunder are effective, IGNORE Clubhouse Notices and Scorecard)

 

Preferred Lies: Model Local Rule E-3 (Preferred Lies) is in operation (relief area: six inches, not nearer the hole).

 

Out of Bounds (Rule 18):

  1. Car Park, Machinery Shed & Enclosure, Clubhouse Enclosure as indicated by Hard Surfaces.
  2. Area known as ‘Gibleen’, which is on the right of 14th, 15th, & 17th Holes and in front of 18th Championship & Medal Tee Boxes.
  3. Driving Range Area as defined by White Posts to the Right of the 7th Hole and to the Left of the 10th Hole.
  4. Over the Roadway to the Right of the 9th Hole as defined by White Posts.
  5. Shrubbery and Flower Beds at rear of 9th Green as defined by White Line/Posts (note the kerbing is not a defining line).
  6. Left and the rear of the 14th Hole as defined by White Posts (note the trench is not a defining line).

 

Penalty Areas (Rule 17):

  1. As indicated by yellow or red stakes and/or lines.
  2. The Penalty Area to the right of Hole 18 and left of Hole 9 extends to infinity.
  3. On Holes 7, 8, 10 & 18 tall Indicator Posts (Blue/White) are set on the margin of the greenside Penalty Areas. Please note that should a ball last cross the edge of the penalty area between said Indicator Posts and come to rest in the Penalty Area, then the player may, as an additional option, if taking penalty relief outside the penalty area, take his/her relief in the Drop Zone provided. Where a ball crosses into the Penalty Area anywhere else, the Dropping Zone is NOT an option, and the player may only take relief under Rule 17.1.

 

The open water courses to the rear of Hole 7 (over the path behind the green) and to the left of Hole 11 (adjacent with the boundary fence) are classified as part of the General Area and therefore NOT penalty areas.

 

Integral Objects:

  1. Internal Walls and edifices.
  2. Fallen Trees and exposed Tree Stumps.

 

Immovable Obstruction/No Play Zone (Rule 16.1): Staked Trees, the adjoining Stake & their Stay Wires & Tubing are No Play Zones (free relief must be taken).

 

Note: There are no Greenkeeper’s Cuttings piled for Removal.
